# compliance-check skill

A `SKILL.md` that checks menu copy, labels, ads, posts, emails or an SOP against
*your* rules file and reports BLOCK / FIX / CHECK / NOT COVERED with a rewrite per
finding. No code. The rules file ships as an unfilled template; the skill refuses
to run until you fill it, because guessing your state's rules is the one thing it
must not do.

## Install

Claude Code, just you: `~/.claude/skills/compliance-check/`.
Claude Code, whole team: `.claude/skills/compliance-check/` in a shared repo.

## Use

Say one of the trigger phrases and paste the text: "compliance check this menu copy",
"is this label OK", "can we post this", "check this SOP". You get a report, not an
edit. Nothing is published or sent.

## What it does not do

- Know the law. It knows your `rules.md`. Empty file, empty check.
- Replace your lawyer or your regulator's bulletins. It makes the first pass
  consistent so the human pass is shorter.
- Catch what you did not write down. Every miss is a new line in `rules.md`.
